KANSAS CITY

1870

May: Thomas York & family passed through here on their way from England to Junction City.

1880

??? Following his father's death in April, Harry York, ran away from Junction City to Kansas City and became a newspaper boy.

1943

summer: Doris Ogden, Betty, Kith, Helen, Polly & Cricket carefully passed through (going 20 mph with 4 bad tires) on their way from Harrisburg, PA, to Colorado Springs where Captain Edward Ogden was stationed.

1944

summer: Doris Ogden, Kith, Helen, Polly & Cricket move back to Rochester, and Captain (Major at some point) Ogden goes to England.

1977

May: Kith, Toby, Kyle & Peggy Briggs went through as part of the exodus of the Gateleys from Colorado Springs to New York (Oakdene)--Kith & Toby pulling a horse trailer holding Waif; Kyle & Peggy pulling a U-Haul loaded with tools, hardware, etc. Plus four dogs...

August: Bill & Ned went through in a big U-Haul van, finishing the exodus caper. After delivering the van to Oakdene, Ned returned to Colorado.
