Helen "Winkie" Hunt Andrew's Photo Albums
|
A BILL GATELEY NOTE In late 2002, I happened to see a strange box on the top shelf of one of my closets. I took it down and discovered that it contained several photograph albums which belonged to Winkie (Helen Hunt Andrew). There's no indication of how she got them except possibly as her position as the elder Andrew daughter. A quick glance at them told me that they contained numerous photographs -- mostly from the mid to late 1800s -- of various and sundry Andrew and Willard relations who probably lived in Wayne County, New York (where many of Winkie and her sister Doris's ancestors and cousins lived) as well as some from the Mikels and Ogden side. I thought those pictures deserved a place in the OGW and proceeded to photograph the photographs The results are shown below. (Click on a thumbnail to see the full-size picture.) Also, click on a name to see who he or she is in the lists of descendants of Josiah Willard and Alexander Andrew and what the relationship is to the five Ogden daughters: Betty, Kith, Helen, Polly and Cricket. In addition, the ancestor charts for the Ogdens and the Andrews may help you see who's who. |
