| 1891 | Edwin and Almeda Peabody and their children Cliff, Linnie and Cecelia moved from Golden back to Breckenridge. |
| When Cliff was a young man, his parents and he homesteaded the "Upper Ranch". This was located about two miles up Boulder Creek, a tributary of the Blue River, about 9 miles north of Silverthorne, CO. They lived there long enough to gain title to the property and held it until the 1930s. | |
| 1910 | Cliff and Halsey Victoria Rosedahl (Vic) were
married on June 20th (probably in Breckenridge).
Vic was born in Wheaton, Kansas, the youngest of five children. She
came to Colorado and attended Greeley Teacher's College. She then
taught in Greeley and Meeker and finally in Breckenridge where her
students included Edna May York: |
| 1912 | Their only child, Elmer Clifton (Clifton) was born in Breckenridge at their home at 303 North Main Street. This house, now (2001) called The Williams House and is part of a B&B complex. |
| ? | They to Washington state for awhile (Vic taught school) and then to Yuba, California, where Cliff worked on a dredge. Vic could not stand the heat, so they moved back to Breckenridge where Cliff worked as a hoist man at the Wellington mine in French Gulch. |
| 1915 | They bought the "Lower ranch" on the Blue River, about 10 miles north of Silverthorne. |
| 1918 | In the spring, they moved to the Lower Ranch and started ranching.. |
| ? | Cliff was the superintendent at the Wilfley mine in Kokomo (about 15 miles SW of Silverthorn on CO 91). |
| ? | They later became County Clerk and Recorder for Summit County in Breckenridge. |
| 1956 | Cliff died on July 31st of tuberculosis in Denver at the age of 70. The last year of his life was spent at the American Medical Center in Denver. |
| 1972 | Vic died on March 6th at the age of 88 in a nursing home. She had spent most of her life after Cliff died at the Lower Ranch. |

Their son Clifton went to school for two years at Slate Creek (a mile or so north of the Lower Ranch) and then at Breckenridge where he graduated. He stayed with Almeda Peabody (his grandmother) during the school year and at the ranch weekends and summers. In 1933 he earned a degree, with honors, from the University of Colorado School of Engineering. In 1939 he married Lenora Miller. |
