Will of Robert York

W.344 Bucks RO Abstract. Robert YORK senr. of Olney. Yeoman.

Dated 30 May 1811 Proved 22 Oct 1814

To son John YORK, & friend William ANDREWS of Olney Esq. £700. Upon Trust to pay the same to my wife Mary for life, so long as she remains my widow. After her decease:

I give the £700 in equal shares to my 7 children, or to the children of the non survivors of them.

To wife Mary, household furniture to the value of £50, or £50 in money.

To son John YORK all my freehold messuages, tenements, and herediaments, & Real estate in Lavendon, Bucks. Also my Malting Offices at Lavendon, for the term yet to come. Also £50.

To son John YORK, & friend William ANDREWS £200, Upon trust to place the same out at interest, and pay the same to my daughter Lucy MACKDONALD for her life:

& after her decease the principal sum to be divided amongst her children. I also give her all my wearing apparel.

To my trustees £200. Upon Trust to invest the same & pay the interest to my daughter Ann YORK, and they to pay her 4/=* per week until the first payment becomes due. After her decease to pay the principal sum to her children, whether they be born in wedlock, or not.

To said sons John & Robert YORK, all book debts owing from them to me.

To my trustees I give £25, to place my grandson George GRAY apprentice, to such trade as he shall make choice.

If my said son William, or any other of my children shall have the farm I now occupy, he, & they shall pay, & retain £26 to each of my 7 children.

Residue to be divided amongst my 7 children.

To my sister Sarah RUSH I give 57=* per week, to be paid by my son John, who she now lives with.

My trustees to be my execs. & I give them £10 each.

Codicil, I renounce the legacy of £200 to my son William, and give him £50 only, & all my household furniture, stock, & implements which which shall be found on the farm at Lavendon Grange, which I lately purchased of Rev. Richard ADAMS.

* : this is probably "pence" - which was 16 mm in diameter and was made of 1.4 grams of silver.
