Spring 1960
Railroad Blues

Oh you can't stand still
And you can't go back
You gotta keep goin'
Down the same old track
Because the wheels keep spinnin'
And the pistons drive
And you're tired tired tired
But you can't take five

Chorus:
Listen to the sun laugh
Listen to the moon cry
Watch all the yesterdays
Whistlin' by.

Well, the engine's clankin'
And the steam's got low
But you chug chug chug
Though you gotta go slow
And the grade starts risin
Toward that golden street
And you know at last
That you've got it beat

Chorus:
Listen to the sun laugh
Listen to the moon cry
Watch all the yesterdays
Whistlin' by.

November 2017: Kithie kept hearing this tune in her head, and though Mom did not leave any written melody, she decided to try to create this and record it. For her 67th birthday, friends came together to form the day-only KXG 67th Birthday Bash Band. Boo Briggs on string bass and backup vocals, Kathleen Murch on keyboard, Kithie vocals and clarinet,  Judy Bennett and T Willows on eggs, Allison Turner with the train whistle. All conducted by Paula Rosenstein.
